Alligators in the fucking park. C'mon, dicks.

Alligator swims in Lehigh Valley Creek.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Bethlehem police say they captured a 3-foot-long alligator after a resident spotted it going over a waterfall.
Police say it took several rounds of hide-and-seek before they could remove the reptile Sunday from the Monocacy Creek.
They say the alligator hid in deep water beneath the falls several times before Officer Eric Yeakel captured it.
A local reptile expert confirmed it was an alligator and took it to a reptile store for treatment.
Bethlehem Police are seeking the public's help in determining how it ended up in the creek.
Someone's a fucking douchebag for this bullshit. Clearly, this is the fuckin step falls in the Illick's Mill Park, a regulr fishing spot for me as well as my recent destination for  my night fishing sojourns because its well lit, easy to wade, and I generally don't fucking expect any fucking crocofuckingdiles.

Furthermore, there's always fucking families and kids in this park, I should know I have to ensure I don't plant a fly in their cute little heads on my backcasts. Who the fuck does this shit, much less on fucking Memorial Day weekend where its loaded with people enjoying picnics and playing in the goddamned stream.

At least the last time, someone dumped the fucking thing in a place not habited by kids (by me, on the other hand..).

Christ, and they found some dead chick in the fucking Lehigh this weekend too, my greatest fear in fishing. An angler found her, of course. Goddamnit.

Perhaps I should make that other greatest fear. Apparantly I need to put carnivorous reptiles into slot 1.

The local paper provides an slightly more indepth article here.
Bethlehem police wrestled an alligator Monday from Monocacy Creek, and the investigation into how the animal got there continues.

It was the second time this year police found an alligator in or near the creek.

The latest incident began at about 11:15 a.m. Monday when a park-goer spotted the alligator swimming over the waterfalls at Illicks Mill Park in Bethlehem before ducking back into the creek.

The reptile evaded police's initial attempts to apprehend it, submerging itself in the deep water below the falls, police said.

It resurfaced about 45 minutes later, and an officer snared it and grabbed it from the water.

Police called on their regular reptile expert to identify the animal, which was more than three feet long.

Two months ago, Bethlehem police recovered a baby alligator from the 1400 block of Schoenersville Road, near Monocacy Creek. The alligator was strapped with a dog harness, then its mouth secured shut with tape from a crime scene van, and finally taken to a holding cell at the Bethlehem police station.

The alligator caught Monday will be transported to a reptile facility in Saylorsburg for "rehabilitation."

It's illegal to keep an alligator as a pet in Bethlehem, according to the city's exotic animal ordinance.

Anyone with more information about the alligator should contact police at 610-865-7187.
Dicks.
